Digital media company Oriented Media Group Bhd. (OMG) has recently invested in MXR Corporation in a deal which also includes market partnerships. The digital media division of the publicly-listed company (MESDAQ OMEDIA, stock no. 0018) has a multinational presence and is based in Malaysia, with other branches in Hong Kong, the Philippines and Singapore.
"The importance of this investment goes far beyond the cash injection alone," said Dr. Steven Zhou, Founder and Director of MXR Corporation. "It also greatly enhances MXR's capability of exploring overseas markets, tapping on OMG's worldwide distribution channels and their profound media content."
MXR is also building new partnerships with prestigious gaming companies. A joint venture between MXR Corporation, OMG, and Typhoon Games Studio Ltd, called MXR International Ltd., was recently formed in Hong Kong, with its headquarters located at CyberPort 2 Hong Kong. MXR International Ltd. will create a new generation of Mixed Reality games and entertainment applications. "With the rich content supplied by our partners, MXR is going to move much faster in penetrating the mass consumer market. By working with our new partner Sanrio Digital, an affiliate of Typhoon Games, a Mixed Reality Hello Kitty and Friends game trailer will be developed and showcased at the upcoming Game Developers Conference 2009 in San Francisco," said Dr. Zhou.
